In order to be awarded your full Christian Ministry qualification, you need to have completed both core units and elective units.
We've chosen specific electives pathways for two reasons:
Our heart is to see you equipped to serve the Lord Jesus Christ in whatever way He guides you to do so. Note: If you have recently completed study in another course or qualification, then you may be able to receive credit for units you have already completed. Please speak with us if you believe you may qualify for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Please note that some of the elective streams will require you to be in a supervised role within your Church, community group or workplace in order for you to meet the unit requirements. These requirements are detailed in each of the elective stream information. |

Your Choice of Electives
Leadership and Management PathwayIf you are in a supervised leadership role within your Church or workplace this may be the best elective pathway for you. The Units you complete will have a practical component that may require the involvement of whoever is responsible for you in your leadership or management role. |
Teaching English - TESOL Mission PathwayIf you want to be introduced to the field of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) you can complete the first three or four Units of a Certificate IV or Diploma of TESOL as your elective Units. If you are interested in completing the entire Cert IV or Diploma of TESOL at a discounted price, you can get qualified in TESOL as well as completing your Cert IV or Diploma of Christian Ministry and Theology. |
Community Services PathwayIf you are working within or can get a supervised "community services" role within an organisation delivering care or counselling or other services then this may be the best elective pathway for you. This may include, for example, a supervised role in chaplaincy. The Units you complete will have a practical component that may require the involvement of whoever is responsible for you in the role you have. |
Here's how it works
- Enrol in one of the Christian Ministry and Theology Courses
- Select the Elective Pathway you want to complete (you can change you mind after enrolment, before you have started work on the electives)
- We will communicate with you to facilitate your enrolment into the course and your trainer will keep in contact with you to complete the course. You may be allocated a second trainer depending on your choice of electives. This is because the trainers are specialised and experienced in different fields.
